Welcome to the Texas Capitol Vietnam War Monument Art Auction Site

This online auction is being conducted from 12:01 a.m. August 1, 2010 through 11:45 p.m.  September 6, 2010. All times on this site are referenced in CDT.

The artwork offered in this auction was created and donated by artist, Otto Dickey (Airbrush by Von Otto). Otto is a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served from 1973-1977 as a Weapons System Mechanic. Upon his discharge from the service, Otto began his career with airbrush art work and has done so for the past 24-years in Waco, TX.

Here he is offering a UH-1 Huey helicopter tail rotor blade with air brush scenes (see slideshow below) from the Vietnam War. The rotor blade is 45 inches long by 8.5 inches wide and is a standard Huey tail rotor blade.

Opening minimum bid for this piece of art is $400.00. Bids can be submitted only by meeting the following requirements:

• You must be a minimum 18 years of age to participate.

• Your bid must be accompanied by your name and email address. (Submit your bid via the comment fields below. Email address will only be used for the purpose of this auction and will not be shared by the Texas Capitol Vietnam War Monument committee.)

• Your bid must exceed the Current Bid (shown on the right) by a minimum $5.00.

• Only auction bids submitted via this site will be accepted.

Note:  The Texas Capitol Vietnam War Monument webmaster reserves the right to determine a valid bid as defined above.

The winning bidder will be notified via email within five (5) days of the auction close. At that time, the winning bidder must submit payment as described in that notification. Upon verification of payment, Otto Dickey will ship the art work to an address provided by the winning bidder (shipping provided to a continental U.S. address only).

ALL proceeds from this auction go to benefit the Texas Capitol Vietnam War Monument to be placed on the capitol grounds in Austin, TX. The monument is a recognized IRS 501 (c) 3 tax exempt organization; Federal Tax ID: 20-3113705. For more monument information, visit www.buildthemonument.org.
